Ha, I bet you thought you’d never see this oil on the blog
again. If you’re new to the blog, I bought
IC P.M. nighttime oil treatment back
in
January, but had disastrous results both times I used the oil. In my review
of the oil I did say that I would try it again as part of a hot oil treatment,
and after seven months I finally got round to trying it – and you might be
surprised at the results I got this time!
Firstly, to make this treatment, I heated up one tablespoon
of sunflower oil and two tablespoons of the IC oil. Sidenote: this made WAY too
much oil for my hair so next time I’ll use less.
I accidentally left it on for a bit too long so I had to
wait for it to cool before using it, but it didn’t take too long. When it was
cooled, I poured it into a glass to make it easier for me to apply to my hair. And
this was where the fun really began:
From the moment I parted my hair and started putting the oil
mixture on my scalp and hair, I felt an immediate difference in my hair! The oil
went to work straightaway making my hair feel softer, moisturised and
nourished. By the time I had finished putting as much oil as my hair could
take, and massaging it in my scalp, my hair felt detangled and I could run my
hands through it with ease.
I then wrapped my head with a plastic shower cap and a towel
and left it on for about forty minutes before I rinsed it out with a Tresemme conditioner.
Usually when I rinse treatments from my hair, I find that my hair gets knotted
and quite difficult to handle, but not this time. My hair remained detangled
and easy to manage – but most importantly, it remained soft to touch even with
water running over it.
You have no idea how ecstatic I am that I have FINALLY found
a way to use this oil and get effective results. This DIY concoction made me
forget about my previously poor experiences with the oil and changed my mind
about never buying the oil (or other IC products) ever again.
And even now that it’s been a few days since I did the
treatment, my hair still feels soft and manageable, and I’ve noticed that I don’t
have as many knots as I used to. I’ll definitely
be using this hair treatment a lot in the future.
