I don’t know why (okay so maybe I do… it’s the end of winter
and changing seasons always plays havoc with my hair), but for the last week,
my hair has been extremely dry. It doesn’t matter how much I moisturise it
(every morning before I leave for work with the IC Shea Butter Deep Conditioner
and the Paltas B.K.C. Leave-In Conditioning Spray), my hair feels brittle and scratchy,
and touching it feels like touching paper when your hands are bone dry – yikes.

Right now my hair is feeling lush and well-nourished after
some much-needed TLC. It really is so important to make sure your hair is thoroughly moisturised and gets a chance to soak up key ingredients that help combat dryness. Leave-in conditioners are great for this because their sole purpose is to last longer in the hair so that their conditioning effects have a lasting impact. Even though I do make the effort to moisturise every day, I only ever focus on the top layer of hair because I’m usually rushing. So when it comes to a well-meaning moisturising session (which takes up to an hour FYI), I really only get around to doing this about twice a week.
I can’t wait for the weekend to come around because it’s
wash day! Which can only mean one thing: I will be luxuriating with a hair mask
on to rid my hair of the last of winter’s brash dryness.
