The next “new” product at the top of my wishlist is the Dr. Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask. I call it “new” even though it’s been around for a little while and even though I’ve seen it a lot on net-a-porter before actually making a move to look into it. I recently stumbled upon this product when I was reading mask recommendations from Vogue’s Funmi Fetto. As a black woman, I’m a massive fan of Fetto’s because of her perfect recommendations for women of colour. I love that the things she shares can work for women who look like me as well as for all other types of women (something I also try to achieve with this blog). Anyhoo…
As we’re all away I am making the conscious effort to rid my face of the hyperpigmentation and discolouration that has plagued me for years, so when I read this mark could do just that, my eyes popped open. I love that Fetto has been suggesting this women for years because it makes me feel like this could be the real deal, the answer to all my clear dark-skinned dreams. This also makes me trust her more than I already do because surely she would not lead me or countless other black women astray. According to Funmi:
With a smooth, whipped consistency, its combination of azelaic and lactic acids degunks your pores and eats away at your skin’s dead layers. Sounds mortifying? Ah, but an epic glow awaits. Your skin will come back to life and dark spots/unevenness become less prominent.
Does this not sound like the actual dream? I WANT IT NOW. Fetto also warns that this mask tingles, so those with sensitive skin should opt for the Deep Exfoliating Mask Sensitive Skin instead.
Also, upon further investigation, Dr. Sebagh has a nifty Pure Vitamin C Powder Cream that you can add to your moisturiser or this mask, which acts to target dark spots more precisely – HEAVEN.
I personally still have a few rounds of product to work my way through so I won’t be purchasing these for a few months. But you can be sure that when I do, you’ll be the first to know!
