It feels like forever ago when I was waiting for ages just
to receive this cream in the post. And now after many months I’m finally able
to use it. You’ll know that before this cream I was using Glossier’s Priming
Moisturizer Rich that I expectedly grew a strong attachment to, leaving me a
bit ambivalent towards other products, but I’ve persevered. Loaded with all
sorts of luxe goodness such as: plum seed oil, hyaluronic acid, rose water,
rose flower oil and angelica leaf extract (doesn’t that all sound so fancy?),
this face cream is supposed to help your skin attract and retain moisture to
increase hydration, nourish skin while leaving you with a healthy-looking
complexion. I’ve noticed that while the cream feels thick when I put my fingers
in the jar, upon touching my face, the cream feels considerably thin and
sometimes my face feels kind of dry. What I’ve also noticed though is that
throughout the day, my face stays consistent and always feels really hydrated. I
also noticed that during the Beast from the East saga, my face did not break
out in any dry patches – in fact my face felt really nice.
How does it stack up against Glossier’s crème de resistance?
It’s hard to say as both are really different. While Glossier’s main aim is obviously
just to moisturise, Fresh’s aim is slightly more technical, designed with a special
formula that releases hydration patches into the skin over time. In terms of the
difference on my skin, both are fairly similar. Though Glossier was insanely
thick and luscious, I did find that I had to layer it on my face because it wasn’t
moisturising enough. Like I’ve said above, Fresh is thick to touch, but when it
goes on kind of thin when I apply it to my face. I also find that if I apply
too much, it has that PVA glue effect I spoke about in relation to their eye
cream.
So far, so good. As for if I would buy it again, I’ll have
to see how I’m feeling once I’ve finished it.
