Last week I got email about the fourth annual Natural Hair Week
taking place across London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds between April 30th
and May 7th. Since starting my hair journey just over six months
ago, African hair and natural hair (to be more precise) is something I’ve become
really interested and passionate about. I think it’s incredibly important, especially
for young Black women and girls, to learn about their hair and to embrace it
regardless of how they prefer to wear their hair, and regardless of whether
they go natural or relaxed. Prior to receiving this email, I had no idea
Natural Hair Week was a thing, but I am over the moon that it is and that this
is its fourth year in action.

This year NHW is full of amazing performances, workshops,
demonstrations, discussions and so much more. The event is hosted by Claire Clottey and Jimmy Swagger, and brings the best in the industry of natural hair and skincare. Tickets start at £14.99 but children under 12 go free. Tickets
can be bought at:
naturalhairweek.com. For more information on the event make
sure you check out their
website. This is definitely an event I want to
experience and if finances permit I’d love to go and check it out for myself. Are
you going? If so, let me know!
