Cleaning My Brushes.

Today’s post is inspired by one I saw on laurenconrad.com when I needed to clean my makeup brushes was sure how. There are WAY over 645k pages out there on the internet about how to clean your brushes, but as a beauty beginner I’d feel pretty weird if I didn’t share how I first cleaned my brushes, especially as I view this blog as my “understanding beauty and hair” journey. I was very surprised by my results, and I think you might be too when you read on and see some of the pictures.
you can't really see it so well, but the tips of my brushes are brown
looks like I've finally found a use for shampoo
First thing’s first, you want to make sure you’ve wet your brushes. When I first run my brushes under the tap, I didn’t see any running makeup…

…it wasn’t until I added the shampoo that I got the shock of my life. I put a small bit of shampoo in the palm of my hand and basically just swirled the brushes around in the shampoo, massaging the soft bristles.

I then rinsed some of the shampoo out before repeating the step again and allowing the shampoo to lather.
this makes me think I wear too much makeup... thoughts?
Once the brushes were completely covered in bubbles, I rinsed them thoroughly and admired (totally surprised) just how clean and new my brushes looked.

Then, me being me, I decided to repeat the shampoo step twice more just to make sure all the makeup had been properly removed from my brushes.
finally clean again
When I was satisfied with my brushes, I rolled them up in a towel…

…and left them out to dry.
wooooooo look at how clean and brand new they look
So there you have it, just look at how clean my brushes are. To be completely honest, I’d forgotten the original colour of my brushes so I was more than pleased to see what they were like when I first bought them. Make sure you check out how Team LC recommends cleaning your brushes, and let me know if you used my method.
