FINALLY. The right shade.
As you’ll remember, I bought this in
October last year (oh wow
that feels so weird to say, and I still can’t get over the fact it’s already
2016), and would have shared it last year had I not painted my nails the wrong
colour hahahahaha. But anyway, here it is: Barry M’s Black Currant, from their
Gelly Collection.
When I applied the first coat it looked bright purple and I vowed
to never wear it again, but as you can see from the pics as soon as I applied
the second coat I had changed my mind. By the third coat, I was IN LOVE and
vowed to wear this as often as possible.
Black Currant is a nice dark and plumy colour that resembles
that of Barry M’s Nightshade (which I loved a lot), and in some lights looks
black.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this colour and could not
recommend it enough. I love how dark it is, and how different it is from my
usual red toned favourites. The cool undertone of this shade means it’s not as
sexy and intense as say
Black Cherry, but it still has that mysterious factor. The
cool undertone also makes this shade particularly perfect for cold winters.
