Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme.

Acids are EVERYWHERE at the moment. It seems as though every beauty outlet, blogger and their dog is talking about the wonders of acids and how they can transform your skin. Among the sea of wonder acids that promise to take ten years off your face (I kid) and leave you with a clearer, brighter complexion (I’m serious), two have really stood out to me. Glycolic acid and salicylic acid tend to crop up more frequently than any other, and after doing some research I decided to give them a try. These acids are known as chemical exfoliators that get beneath the skin and break up dirty molecules and build-up. Now, you all know that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Fresh and will most definitely be using their products until the end of time, but even they don’t have everything I need in my skincare routine. Also, I’ve seen great results whilst using Fresh, but I wanted to take things to the next level. The whole thing with acids can be a little intimidating and convoluted so I won’t get into the details of that in this post, but I will say that they take skincare to the next level.
starting off with a fresh, cleansed face
Okay, now on to these pads. Firstly I have randomly been subscribed to Nip + Fab for years (I honestly don’t remember ever subscribing and obviously that recent GDPR law had no effect on it). I’ve seen that one of their main selling points is their assortment of acids that come in numerous forms from pads to scrubs and everything in between. When I saw they were having a sell and that these particular pads were on offer, it was as if the heavens had aligned and my time had come. However, upon further inspection, I found that I could buy these pads cheaper in Boots – although last week I found out they’re even cheaper in Superdrug *sigh* – which was when I really knew it was meant to be.
Like with all skincare, especially acids, you’re supposed to patch test them so that you don’t end up covering your face with something that will make you break out. Obviously I did not patch test (don’t ask me why) and jumped in head first*. The first thing I noticed about the pads is the smell. They have a very clinical but fresh and light floral scent to them which I loved, and they are incredibly thin.
you would have thought that I hadn't cleansed beforehand...
They recommend using after cleansing, which I did, but I don’t think it made much of a difference because after wiping over my face, neck and décolleté, the pad was dirty.
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to see much straightaway but OMG. The next morning when I looked in the mirror, my face looked visibly different. My face looked so clear and fresh and new and glowy and amazing I had to snap a picture. My face was also insanely smooth, which says a lot because my skin is always very soft.
the morning after... just look at that smoothness
Right now I’m absolutely obsessed with these pads and can’t stop raving about them to everyone. I can’t wait to see the difference in my face once I’ve finished the pot.

*These are labelled ‘Extreme’ so it’s even more important to make sure that you patch test first. These pads have a 4% glycolic acid content so it’s crucial that you don’t end up torturing your skin with acid.
